Description

The North of Central America suffers from violence as a result of gangs and other organized crime. This is the main driver of forced displacement in the region. Through the year we anticipate UNHCR will help accommodate 10,000 people of concern, support 6,000 to access employment and 5,700 to receive legal assistance.

While UNHCR continues to improve financial support, legal aid, and safe housing for asylum seekers, the long-term stability of refugees remains a concern. We are working with government institutions and local partners to integrate hundreds of refugees who are seeking safety here each year.
