FAO's cooperation in the Dominican Republic addresses three priority areas based on priorities of the Dominican Government in the area of FAO's mandate: Food and nutrition security and poverty reduction through the development of policies and strategies to create capacity in rural areas, as well as in national institutions; Strengthening family farming; Integrated watershed management, efficient use of natural resources and risk management and climate change through actions aimed at establishing early warning systems to diseases and strengthening of communities to increase their resilience to natural disasters.
