FAO's assistance in Saint Vincent and the hinges on three priority areas: Food and nutrition security, including development of a policy framework. Support in this area includes addressing the main causes of low agricultural production, boosting marketing activities and strengthening producers' response to disasters; Agricultural and rural development, aimed at increased local production, value added and agricultural exports as well as capital investment; Sustainable natural resource management and climate change adaptation, with a particular focus on deforestation, soil erosion, degradation of water sources and conservation of biodiversity.
