Plan International Romania

Plan International has been working in Romania since February 2022 to support the government and partner organisations in responding to the arrival of refugees from Ukraine. 

Since the start of the conflict, over 600,000 people have fled to Romania with many moving through to other European countries.

It is estimated that just under 100,000 Ukrainians will stay in Romania over the coming 6 months, of which 30% to 40% are children under 14. 

Our work supports the most vulnerable refugee children and their families at key border crossings and places where they gather like transit shelters.

We are helping families meet their immediate needs and are providing longer-term support to help families integrate into their new communities.
