GIZ has been working in Namibia on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) since the country gained its independence in 1990.
Based on the agreement reached between the German and Namibian Governments, GIZ’s activities focus on the following priority areas:
In addition to the programmes and projects being implemented in these priority areas, we provide project advice in the field of social development and health (HIV/AIDS).
We use results-based concepts and instruments to prepare, implement and evaluate international cooperation projects in Namibia.
